Sheri Jackson received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi in December 1976. In 1991, she received a Master’s Degree from Delta State University. Then in 2000, she became National Board Certified. From 1977 until the present time she has had a number of teaching positions from first grade through sixth grade in Holly Springs, Grenada, and Cleveland. Since August 1992, she has been teaching first grade here at Hayes Cooper Center. At the 2002 fall Reading Conference in Biloxi, she and her teaching partner presented a session on technology in the classroom. In June 2003, she was a presenter at the Mississippi Literacy Conference in Biloxi, along with several other teachers from the Cleveland School District. In the summer of 2003, she traveled with several teachers from Hayes Cooper to the National Educators’ Computer Conference in Seattle, Washington and then to New Orleans in the summer of 2004. She is past co-chairperson of the Curriculum and Professional Development Committee of the Cleveland School District. Over the past several years she has supervised approximately eight student teachers from Delta State University.
