Mrs. Katherine Gilbert
Spanish Specialist
Katherine Gilbert is the Spanish teacher at Hayes Cooper. She grew up in the small town of Sulligent, AL where she attended k-12th grades. Then, she went on to Bevill State Community College where she received her associates in General Science. After that Mrs. Gilbert transfered to Mississippi State University where she was involved in MFLA, KDP, and her sorority Alpha Gamma Delta. Katherine graduated there in 2003 with a bachelor's in Secondary Education teaching Spanish. This past year she taught at Greenwood High School, where she also coached softball and basketball. While at Greenwood, Mrs. Gilbert was honored as teacher of the month for October. Katherine is currently working on her master's at Delta State in Social Science Education.
