Dr. Debbie Fioranelli serves as the PYP Coordinator.  She has 28 1/2 years of experience teaching elementary school.  Dr. Fioranelli holds a B.S. and M.Ed. in Elementary Education from Delta State University and an Ed.D in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi.  She has National Board Certification in the area of Middle Child Generalist.  Dr. Fioranelli has served as an educational consultant with Linbrook Consultants, Inc. of Jackson, Mississippi assisting school districts in Mississippi to successfully integrate technology into the regular classroom setting and has also served on local and state curriculum committees in the area of curriculum development.  Dr. Fioranelli is a part-time educational consultant assisting Mississippi schools with curriculum development.  She has also presented hands-on math and science workshops at various state and national conferences and has served as a mentor with the MENTOR (Molding Exciting New Teachers of Reading) Institute through the University of Mississippi as well as with the Mississippi Fellowship Program.  Dr. Fioranelli authored an article, Recycling Into Art:  Forming nPartnerships with Parent Volunteers, published in the October, 2002 edition of Science and Children, an NSTA journal, and co-authored Tushes, Tusks, and Other Elephant Rumblings, an article based on an integrated unit she co-wrote with other Hayes Cooper teachers, which was published in the Fall 2002 issue of Mississippi Professional Educators Journal.  Dr. Fioranelli was included in the 2003 – 2004 edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.  She has taught at Hayes Cooper Center since it opened in 1991 and can't think of a better place to work! She is also the proud grandmother of a beautiful grandaughter named Zoe!
